The Jewish cemetery in Pławno is located on the edge of the forest. It was built at the end of the 18th century. The oldest preserved tombstone comes from 1897.
The cemetery was devastated by the Germans during World War II, and the destruction was completed by the local population after the war. At the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, on the initiative of the members of the Society of Friends of Gidel, the cemetery was tidied up and the preserved matzevot were used as a lapidary. Next to it, there is a plate with the inscription: “A place of memory of the Jews buried here - the inhabitants of our commune. Gidle 1993 ”.
Several tombstones have been preserved in the cemetery. Unsecured area.
